Design and construction of the H24 underwater wave energy converters
Development of the H24, by 40South Energy SRL and our partners from Elements Works, begun after years of work on several different designs.
A 50kW full scale prototype of H24 was deployed at sea in Marina di Pisa, Italy, reaching a Technology Readiness Level of 7 with its test campaign. In 2018 this unit put the first electricity produced from waves into the Italian grid.
At the end of 2016 40South Energy Italia SRL was born and acquired the Intellectual Property of 40South Energy SRL on the H24 concept, with the mission to bring it to commercial level. We changed our name to H24wave, to better reflect our focus, and we are now working on a capital increase which will allow us to take the next step. Stay tuned for news and updates!
